In the Red Queen’s world, people are divided into two major titles: Reds and Silvers. Red are considered commoners with no special or magical powers and are considered below Silvers. On the other hand, silvers have superpowers, such as money, royalty, and God-like powers.
Mare is a seventeen-year-old Red girl who lives on poverty-stricken stilts and believes that she has to live her whole life in this unequal world. Not until she finds herself working for the silvers in the palace. Among these people, she discovers that she has an amazing ability to control electricity even though she has Red blood.
Fearful of Mare’s potential to destroy the balance between the Reds and the Silvers, palace Silvers declared her the princess and engaged her to a Silver prince. Despite knowing all the dangers, Mare is determined to help the Red Guard to bring down the Silver regime and to gain equality.
